Experience the Trait
Have you ever built something from scratch? How long did it take you? When a task
takes longer than a day, a week or a month, we start wondering, how long will this pro-
ject really take? Noah started a project from scratch that took around 75 years to com-
plete. That’s right – YEARS! Can you imagine? You are building a boat in the middle of
nowhere; people are poking fun at you, thoughts of quitting and laying your hammer
down cross your mind when you remember that perseverance and consistency in the pro-
ject are key to seeing the fulfillment of the promise of God.

What if the promise of God were connected to our perseverance in the project? What if
God doing His part depended on you doing your part? Would it make the persevering
more doable? I believe it would! Noah’s focus quickly moved from ‘how long will this
project take’ to ‘how far will this project take me?’ Clear through to the promise of God!
If you will see it through, God will see you through it.

In his book, “Finding Your "A" Game: Golf, Investing, and Life,” Neil Rinehart
shares A Success Equation: Success = Analysis + Execution – ego (pride). As you
move around the golf course you need to analyze each situation, execute with consisten-
cy and leave your ego back at the club house.
