Along the years women were not considered as citizens, they were the way to preserve the

family’s name. But today women’s roles had changed in different ways, especially in the

political vacancies and in women’s rights.
I. Political vacancies

A. In the past
1. Women were not allowed to vote.

2. Women could not being part of a political group

B. In the present
1. Women have to vote. It is mandatory

2. Women can belong to a politic group and they could be candidates for
political vacancies.

II. Women’s rights
A. In the past

1. Women could not read books about politics, science or philosophy

2. Women were not allowed to go to schools
3. Women’s parents chose their husbands and they could not get divorce.

B. In the present
1. Women can read any kind of books and they can find them everywhere.

2. Most of the women had their college’s degree.

3. Women can decide if they get married or not.
