Global perspective
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a
universal set of goals, targets and indicators that UN
member states will be expected to use to frame their
agendas and political policies. We all have a role to
play and many of the goals are linked to Eco-Schools
activities and actions.
For example, tackling litter impacts on Goal 12 –
Responsible Production and Consumption and Goal 14
– Life Below Water in terms of marine litter.
Waste Minimisation links to Goal 11 Sustainable
Cities and Communities and Goal 12 – Responsible
Production and Consumption.
The water topic links to Goal 6 - Clean Water and
Sanitation and Goal 14 Life Below Water
Biodiversity and School Grounds work links to Goal 15
Life on Land.
Energy and Climate Change link to Goal 7 –
Affordable and Clean Energy and Goal 13 - Climate
Action.
