               RESEARCH PAPER

               GUIDELINES FOR THE CONDUCT OF THE RESEARCH PAPER

               1.      Interview

                       Students are expected to:

                       (a)    select an individual or institution that has made valuable contribution to theatre arts.
                              This may include a cultural institution or cultural/folk group, Dance Company, Theatre
                              Company,  Technical  Production  Company,  or  a  venue  of  Historical  and  Cultural
                              significance;

                       (b)    include a rationale/justification for his/her choice;

                       (c)    conduct at least ONE interview for their research to ascertain the contribution to
                              Theatre Arts;

                       (d)    include  presentation  of  findings,  paying  careful  attention  to  structure  and
                              organisation;

                       (e)    present the research in essay format and attach the transcript after the bibliography;
                              and,

                       (f)    provide a creative reflection on his/her process.

               2.      Discussion

                       An excellent research project is one in which the body of the essay has been informed by the
                       interview questions in conjunction with other support materials gathered by the students.
