DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND VISUAL COMMUNICATION


               GENERAL OBJECTIVE

               On  completion  of  this  Expressive  Form,  students  should  develop  knowledge  of  design,  layout
               techniques, lettering, digital photography and illustration skills in order to capture and portray ideas
               and messages.


               SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

               Students should be able to:

               1.      create drawings relevant to Photography and Visual Communication;

               2.      examine  the  cultural,  economic  and  expressive  roles  of  Photography  and  Visual
                       Communication;

               3.      apply the elements and principles of design to produce aesthetically pleasing compositions;

               4.      demonstrate manual and computer aided layout techniques;

               5.      define terminologies used in Digital Photography and Visual Communication;

               6.      use digital camera to shoot photographs;

               7.      apply appropriate health and safety procedures;

               8.      use appropriate lettering styles and illustrations to achieve a desired communication visual
                       effect;

               9.      use basic computer application to edit and print photographs;

               10.     create  visual  communication  material  using  manual  and  computer-aided  software
                       applications; and,

               11.     critique their own work and that of other established Caribbean and international artists.


               CONTENT

               1.      Create Drawings

                       (a)    Sketches;

                       (b)    Illustrations; and,

                       (c)    Experimental.
