Suggested Teaching and Learning Activities
To facilitate students’ attainment of the objectives of this Module, teachers are advised to engage
students in the teaching and learning activities listed below.
1. Allow students to attempt several exercises with the mathematical aspects of Biology in order
to gain familiarity and to appreciate the levels of significance.
2. Have students conduct review of literature on biodiversity and conservation, and make
presentation to the class.
3. Invite resource personnel to do presentation on plant biotechnology.
4. Engage students in a discussion of how humans use artificial selection to create, for example,
domesticated animals, different breeds of dogs, chickens that lay a lot of eggs, Barbados
Blackbelly sheep, and Jamaica Hope.
