The Donkey in the Tree

The zookeepers were going to have a get

together in six days’ time, so all of them would be
in the main building. There would be music

playing and lots to eat and drink. All the keys for

the animals’ cages would be left in the nearby

zoo office while the zookeepers were partying.

Wail knew this was his opportunity to escape.

Escape day came quickly and Wail waited
anxiously for the party to start. He waited until an

hour after the party had got going and then he

called his good friend Elephant to push his trunk

through the zoo office window and bring him the

keys.
