Gouti responded.

Anansine’s sister quickly took the microphone at

the wake and announced that anyone caught
gossiping about her sister would have to leave

the wake. She stared red-faced Mr Manicou dead

in his eyes.

Before each wake, Arman would sneakily eat all

the buns and mauby, so that there was nothing
left for the guests, and each night Anansine’s

sister would blame a new animal.
