A Dreadful Accident

































          Her voice took me by surprise and I accidentally
          dropped  the  match  on  the  rug.  It  caught  fire

          quite  easily  because  just  before  we  had  started

          cooking,  I  had  been  cleaning  up  the  materials

          from  our  girls’  night  pedicure  and  manicure

          session and had accidentally knocked over a large
          bottle of acetone on the carpet.  It was still quite

          wet from the spill.


          When I had tried to clean it up, I had wound up

          spreading  it  around  even  more  and  making  a

          greater mess. My clumsiness had annoyed my
