Team CXC – HR 2020 Staff Welfare Activities
2020 Student Attachment/Internship Programme
The Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC®) a regional exam-
ining body, seeks to contribute to the community through its
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme by offering
internships or student attachments to tertiary level students
from various institutions in the country of domicile. This year
despite COVID-19 and all its challenges, CXC® extended
the programme to relatives of CXC® staff studying here and
abroad. Students from BCC, UWI, University of Waterloo, Cen-
tral University of Finance & Economics (China) and the St Mi-
chael’s School were afforded this opportunity. The four-week
internship programme commenced on 4 August 2020 and
was extended until 2 October 2020. The programme exposed
students to the world of work by allowing them to:
(i) gain real world experience;
(ii) gain exposure to their chosen field; and
(iii) developing a professional network.
For the first time this year, the Human Resource department
introduced the ‘CXC® 2020 Intern Ambassador Award’ this
initiative sought to highlight the intern who demonstrated
most or all of CXC’s Core Values in their daily roles. CXC® Eastern Zone Office Breast Cancer Support Initiative Social
Core Values: ResPECT - Results Oriented, Professionalism, Activity
Excellence, Customer Focus, and Teamwork. The COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent shutdown
negatively affected the scheduled quarterly Staff Engagement
