Chronicles of a Grenadian American Boy in Turks & Caicos Islands
Thankfully, the teachers and principal comforted
me on those tough days and, gradually, I became
more comfortable. On Saturdays my family and
I would go to the popular Jamaican family-owned
restaurant, Chinsons. My sister, Eden, loved their
cocoa bread that is soft with every bite. I would
enjoy their mini-beef patties accompanied with a
         mouth-watering mango smoothie, which would
make my palate dance, and my parents would
always order their spicy jerk chicken with an
         alcoholic beverage of choice!
In the blink of an eye, we were in 2015 which was
the year I celebrated my 4th birthday with friends
and family at one of my favourite local restaurants,
Bugaloos, in Paw Patrol style! We had loads of fun
playing games, in the beautiful turquoise water and
eating yummy cake!!! My family and I became
more settled and Providenciales finally started to
         feel more like home!
