Dada Culzac
He did not like that and refused to drink any
more tea. So my Mom and Grandma had to buy
him sweeteners to put in his tea. He still
complained, but not as much.
DaDa was a very good carpenter, and a fisherman
too. He loved to cook his own fish broth and
wanted only fresh fish in it. He told his friends
that it was fresh fish that made him live so long.
My mom said that DaDa liked to tell them that, if
fish ain’t jumping when it is going in the pot,
I don’t want it. He also liked to eat fowl head and
eyes. He said the comb on the fowl’s head was
nice and chewy. I thought to myself that that was
very yucky.
DaDa built many fishing boats, but his favourite
was one he called Yvonne. He parked Yvonne
right outside his bedroom window so that no one
could use it without his permission. Yvonne was
the name of his first child, my Great Aunt, who
lives in England.
