                                         Sd.C.A.Daly,
                                               Ma jor,

                                         Political Agont.

Translation of a petition without date.

Oh Honourable Sir ! Groat incidents and affairs took place
in your absence which disturbed our thoughts and surprised our
senses. Yfe wore aware of the justice and the equity of the
British Government and their respect for tho Arab nation and
their assistance ^h>it, but with much sorrow and regret wo saw from the
present Government Political Agont, Major Daly, actions, interference,
his partiality to agitation and highhandedness which was contrary to tho
attitude of Britain and was in opposition to her policy towards the Arab'
nation. On account of this we became obliged to call your attention
in the hope that Your Honour will administer justice after enquiry and
scrutiny in alL disturbances and riots that happened in Bahrain so that
you may come to know of the author - previously about one century passed
ovor it (Bahrain) and no riot was heard and no blood was shed in it.
Ho know of your glory and purity of conscience. Oh Honourable Sir ! Since
to$k charge of the affairs of this country ho did his utmost to

maintain friendly relations between him anc the British Government, and
during the past years he met with affairs ..hich distinguished the
faithful from the others, but he did not chose any hut tho British
relations hoping earnestly that she will bring ub to close ii friend

ship and strengthened our agreements as he was dosirous of the public
good and his object was to assist the Arab nation to rise. Vfe were
grateful to h^r for preserving the alliance which was between ns but
since the appointment of Major Daly as Political Agent for us the state
was changed to tho contrary and it was provod from his actions and
attitudes that he is quite ignorant of tho British conduct towards the
Arabs. Vfe bore his unreasonable irregularity and highhandedness and did

not want to bother you about him so that tho right may become clear to
                                                                        him
