the Baharnah residents, submitted our thanks and repeat it now again
for the favours of tho nigh Government and tho establishment of those
arrangements in this town. Why should thoy not hato thoso lawful
courts wlhilo thoy woro oppressing tho peoplo yesterday without any fear,
and why should they not croato disordor in the town v/hilo overy ono of
them was yostordny governing tho villages or Bahrain without thinking
of tho Government ? Why should they not mako mischief while thoy havo
boon prevented from »k plundering, and why should they not bo annoyed
while they are s tending before the Justice Court with tho plaintiff or
the defondent. in an equal state ? They haye Shaikh Hamad x because ho
exorcises justice against them. They hate the good advice of the Politi
cal Agent because he always gives advice to Shaikh Hamad and guides him
to co justice to ifcf rights of the pooplo. Wo enjoyed peace for our
lives and properties and honour by him and our live3 depend upon him.
They cry because he broke tlr ir backs by his justice and enforced
obedience by hip sagaciousnoss. For this reason they envied him and
intnnd to misrepresent matters to Your Honour hoping that they may he
able to create mischief as before. Qor, forbid that tho High Government
listen to the misrepresentations of these mischief makers. So aware
Oh respected Honourable Sir, that these intriguers and agitators against
tho Government arc'not originally form Bahrain. Few of thorn aro from the
people of Bahrain. They aro from Al Khali fall who wore committing mischief
p formerly. How much they plundered and killed. V/o complain to God and to
you the men of justice. The rest of those who had v/ritton to four
Honour are strangers who like the spread of ovil acts and thoy are
mischiofmakcrs• If, God forbid, you intend to liston to tho sayings of
these mischief makers, wo beg you to permit us to go out of Bahrain and
guard us when we want go . V/o will go and tho lands of God are wide. If
tho Government intend aftor u long time to change the Political Agent,
Major Ikily, his going frem Bahrain will "be a cause for our humiliation
