Translation of petition from 7 ropro3ontativo3 Baliarnah, liandod to
the Political Residont on 26th Ootohor 1923.

First supplication.
(1) Continuance of the new arrangements and the Just Court at Bahrain
Wo ask Your IIonour whether these arrangements and just rules will
remain in force in this state at Bahrain or will he changed? If God
fox'bid the Political Agent is transferred from Bahrain will the next
Political Agent act according to these just rulos or any one will
fr
act according to his policy and thougl^V If God forbid the new
rules do not remain always in force and bo changed no doubt the
affairs of tho town will revert to its former condition end trouble
will be crested and the people will suffer from the oppressions of
A1 Khali fall. We beg tho High Government and Your Honour to have
these now just rules always in force in this town or else our going
out of this town is bettor for us because we aro enjoying peace by
these now rules.
Second supplication.
(2) Wing to the enforcement of the just rules the Arab community
aro every day making intrigues and misrepresenting matters by
applications. But we aro tho residents who are more than Gu,000
in nurabsr are prepared to submit applications more than them. Is
-this our petition enough for the High Government or is it necessary
to repeat?
Third supplication.
(3) L'.uch oppression is done in the diving question in this town of
Bahrain. Such proceedings are contrary to tho .Vtoharr.iedan law.
Although we are Shiah but we in concurrence with all the Islamio
religions agree to the decision of Sunni Judges in this matter. When
one of tli9 divors complains to the Government and demands hia dues
from tho Hakhodn they refer him to the diving Sal if ah Court, that
i3 i. two wicked Arabjj who do not distinguish right from wrong.
Anyhow they decide the case in favour of the oppressors- the diving
Kakhodau- and by these reasons they damage tho rights (of the divers)

Wo beg the High Government to consider this matter and make an
arrangement
