          Fourth supplioation.
          (4) A oamol was wounded sometime ago in the village of Satrah.
Tho inhabitants of Satrah wore accusod of this act and a man \va3
killed from them. It should not he hiddon from you that tho family
of A1 Khali fall, big and small, according to their ability own
innumerable animals. They ordor the hordsmen to graze the animals
in tho da to plantations of the people without any consideration to
the state of the poor but act against the poor men Y/ho ov/n date

plantations and spoil thoir fruit. Moreover they urge upon thorn,
to pay taxes. Oh the men of justice l we beg you to give your
consideration to this oppression and favour us with its removal
before the happening of any greater afflic tation and murdor and the
spoliation of our properties. Then to whom v/e shall complain and
with whom wo shall tako refuge? Does Your Honour suggest that v/e
          apply directly to*the High Government?
          Fifth supplication.
          (5) After that ordors were issued by the Government of Bahrain
for tho removal of Khaled bon Ali Khalifah and his sons from tlis

village of cJatraii and tho occupation of his property they did not
tako any taxes from the inhabitants of 3atrail temporarily owing to
thoir fear but we hear from the people and also from the Political
Agent that tho taxes are being taken as before. 5/e ask Your Honour
lx about tho system of those taxes and their division. If the
Town and its people are under one rule then taxes should be recover

ed from all the subjects without exception, because most of tho
inhabitants of Satrah are Arabs and few of them are from the A1

Khalifah family but they do not pay the usual taxes. Are tii93e
orders and payment of taxes especially Issued for the Bahrainis
and not for others, Arabs etc?
