The following British F.P.Os operated in Bahrain during this
                   period —

                        The Registration Labels used during this period were British
                   type inscribed “BAHRAIN" (with or without a suffixed letter or
                   number, other than “1") for use in Manama Post Office,
                   “BAHRAIN 1" for use at Muharraq, and “AWALI" or ‘AWALl-
                   BAHRAIN’. The Postal Superintendent had his own labels
                   inscribed “BAHRAIN P.S." and these may be found used in
                  conjunction with Bahrain stamps or — until early 1965 — with
                   “Value Only" stamps cancelled either “BAHRAIN" or, “DAS
                   ISLAND. ABU DHABI. TRUCIAL STATES".

                        The Postal Superintendent also used distinctive covers and
                   aerogrammes with the printed heading “On Her Majesty’s Service"
                   or “On Her Britannic Majesty’s Service". These normally only
                   bore stamps if registered. His unregistered correspondence was
                   usually franked with a single line rubber-stamped “On Postal
                   Service" in purple,’with the Bahrain date-stamp (Types 21 or 26)
                   struck alongside or, on very rare occasions, with a strike of the
                   Exchange Office stamp (Types 32 or 33). In later years his
