bearing heavy postage in the form of blocks of‘Value Only’ Rupee
stamps, cancelled with Bahrain date-stamps Type 27A (rarely) or, from
December 1961, Type 40 numbered “2” or “5” may generally be
accepted as being from Das Island - especially if the piece also bears a
British-type Registration Label inscribed “BAHRAIN PS”. Even this,
however, cannot be certain as the Postal Superintendent in Bahrain
himself often used ‘Value Only’ stamps cancelled “BAHRAIN” (2 or 5),
and with the same Registration Label!
