               General Questions
               1.  Why are you interested in the Financial Analyst role?


                 Bob is currently living in Big Bear and he wants to be a greater part of the community.  This
                 role appeals to him greatly.


               2.  Please tell me about your current position and its day­to­day responsibilities.


                 He is currently unemployed and was laid off due to a corporate restructuring.  Prior to that he was
                 the senior cost accountant for an aerospace company.  He analyzed freezing standard cost, liaised
                 between AP and the ERP system,  He kept the plant running from a fiscal sense.  He reported price,
                 rate, and efficiency variances.


               3. What do you know about the City of Big Bear Lake and the Department of Water and
                 Power?

                 He has lived in Sugar Loaf for nearly 20 years and is very familiar with having raised his family
                 there.  He has strong ties to the community.  Other than paying his bill every month, he
                 doesn't have a true knowledge of the DWP.  The payment system is efficient and he has
                 never had reason to complain.


               Position Specific Questions

               4.  What relevant accounting experience do you have that would allow you to succeed in this
                 role?


                 He does not have gov't accounting experience.  While his experience is in the private sector, he feels
                 that he would still bring his wealth of accounting skills and push the department to another level
                 given his experience with numbers.  He feels that he can learn the public sector ways as well as bring
                 a fresh perspective.  In the private sector, Bob assisted with external audits, he has asset
                 management experience, P&L interpretation, financial analysis, and project management accounting.


               5.  The right candidate will be a long­term fit, how do you get the message across that you are
                 that candidate?

                 His community ties allow him to be that long­term fit.  Big Bear is home and he is ecstatic to have the
                 opportunity to contribute directly to where he lives.  He will also appreciate the commute much
                 more.


               6.  What do you consider to be your greatest professional strength?


                 Bob feels that his customer service and communication are his best strengths.  He will go
