The Red Well-Read Reader
Story 254
The Dead Sea Scrolls
On one morn about eleven
In the year '47
A Bedouin boy went out to troll.
When he heard the steeple bells toll
He docked his boat and took a stroll
That took him up upon a knoll
Where he found a cave with rare bowls
And the cen•tu•ries-old "Dead Sea Scrolls"
Which scho•lars were to unroll
To find the Bible nearly in whole

All But Charcoal
An•thra•cite and bi•tu•mi•nous
are two kinds of coals.
Large numbers and shal•low waters
are two kinds of shoals.
And staying clean and being good
are two kinds of im•pos•si•ble goals.
