The Utmost Party
Once on Maine's northernmost seacoast, we were in•vi•ted by a
most gra•cious host to a party that was truly the ut•ter•most.
Modest George Yost would not in the least boast, but his yard
would, with a lantern atop each post. We were served cav•i•ar on
toast and the tastiest roast. Every guest proposed a toast, which
was laughed down with a witty riposte.
The next day this foremost party was ballyhooed in The New York
Times and The Washington Post.

A Slogan On Which To Dote
Can•di•date Goldie Oats mused, "I need a slogan that will that people will
note . . . one on which they will dote. It must be something they can learn
by rote and readily quote."
Sat•is•fied, she beamed and began to gloat. These two she would emote:
A VOTE FOR OATS WILL MAKE YOUR TAXES
EASY TO TOTE !
&
1
A DARK HORSE NEEDS HER VOTES AS WE THE
PEOPLE NEED OUR GOLDIE OATS !
