Hard-earned Coins
In summer a bricklayer might wear a terry cloth around
his loins, pinned together where one fold with another
conjoins.
On corners where one row of bricks and another adjoin, he alone must place a
cornerstone called a quoin. Now the heavy quoin might pull a muscle in his groin,
but Local # 1 of Des Moines – the union which he'd like to join – insists this be
how he earn his coin.

Girls and Their Toys
It's a well-known fact that little girls love little
boys. Playing with boys is one of their favorite
joys. But if little girls make too much noise when
bothering little boys, their mothers may lose their
poise and make their daughters play with "other
toys."
Story 301
Dad Rejoiced
Upon lazy Roy a job was foist, irrespective of the complaint he had
voiced. He was made run a construction hoist, and to carry many a
fifty-pound joist. Roy was sad, but his dad was glad and he
rejoiced !
