Assisting the
Community – DUKE OF
EDINBURGH AWARDS
We had six students, all of which are now
Alumni; undertake their Gold Duke of
Edinburgh Awards in 2018.
This is an internationally recognised program
for young people, building their skills to equip
them for life and work. The choice to do the
Award is voluntary and one element of this
Award is service.
Brylie Clark assisted as a youth camp leader
at Portsea Adventure Camp. Daniel Brennan
volunteered with Distinctive Options which
is a charity that assists with those living with
disabilities and also worked as a camp leader.
Caitlin Fettes volunteered at St Vincent De Paul
Society whilst Rhiannan Fettes volunteered at a
local charity shop.
Callum Nemeth volunteered as an Auskick
coach and did Oz Bosco and a variety of
service activities such as the Winter Sleepout.
Bradley Bruce volunteered with the local fire
and rescue service.
We are inspired and amazed by what our
young people are willing to do for others and
the way they push themselves out of their
comfort zone. It is an incredible achievement
by them over the past four years.
