                                                                                                                                                                In Fall 2021, Chatham Archivist Molly Tighe and
                                                                                                                                                                Assistant  Professor of Immersive Media Joseph
                                                                                                                                                                Amodei collaborated to introduce students to archival
                                                                                                                                                                research in creative practice and to support their
                                                                                                                                                                development of augmented‐reality artworks.

                                                                                                                                                                The collaboration included a tour

                                                                                                                                                                of the archives, instruction on accessing digital
                                                                                                                                                                resources available through the archives, and in‐class
                                                                                                                                                                resource consultations that supported the evolution of
                                                                                                                                                                each student’s project. The resulting artworks
                                                                                                                                                                demonstrated ingenuity and skill in developing
                                                                                                                                                                engaging and informative methods of “Serious Play."









                                                                                                                                                                In addition, Assistant Professor Joseph Amodei




                                                                                                                                                                envisions the collaboration “as a way to introduce the




                                                                                                                                                                students to social practice, by collaborating with groups





                                                                                                                                                                in their own community and making experiences for



                                                                                                                                                                other members of their community.” The University





                                                                                                                                                                Archives hopes to continue this collaboration in the




                                                                                                                                                                future.
