Hibiscus Green Tea Hair Mask
Items you will need:
● 2 tablespoons hibiscus petals for shoulder-length hair,
of `any variety
● 2 tablespoons loose green tea leaves or 2 green tea bags
● 1 cup water
● 2 tablespoons avocado essential oil
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Gather your ingredients together at your workstation and measure
out the required amounts needed for this recipe.
2. Boil a cup of water in a saucepan on your stove top.
3. When the water begins to boil, add the green tea bags and turn the
heat down to a low flame to allow the bags to simmer in the
water for 5 minutes.
4. Turn the heat off and allow the leaves to steep in the water till the
water cools completely.
5. Set this water aside for later use.
6. You can use either fresh or dried hibiscus petals for this hair mask.
If you are using the dried variety, you will need double the
amount of petals for the same potency.
7. Heat some avocado oil gently over a low flame on your stove to a
medium heat.
8. Add the petals to this oil and allow it to simmer in the heating oil
for a minute.
9. Turn the heat off and allow the petals to steep in the oil for half an
hour or even longer to impart their essences into the oil.
10. Then, add this hibiscus-infused oil to a mixing bowl along with
the petals.
11. Now, add in the green tea infusion to the mixing bowl gently,
stirring throughout as you pour. Your mask is ready to be applied!
12. Use a brush to apply this resulting mask to your hair.
13. Cover your hair with a shower cap or plastic bag to avoid
unnecessary dripping and allow the mask to work its wonders for
about an hour or even more.
14. Then, rinse off with plenty of cold water and an optional sulfate-free
shampoo.
15. Apply this hair mask about two to three times a month for to
effectively keep dandruff at bay.
