Chapter 8: Cleansing and
Soothing Protection -
Masks to relieve itchy scalp
One of the first reasons we jump into the shower at the end of a long work day is to
wipe the layers of pollution off of us. Dirt sticks to us in so many ways - through the
smog in the air, dirt particles on the roads, stray food debris, and so on. Along with
your skin, your hair also takes up a lot of damage from the pollutants in the
environment so you won’t have to breathe them in.
When these pollutants collect and build up on your scalp, they combine with the sweat
and excess oils excreted through scalp pores. It is this build up of grimy particles that
makes you itch your scalp - and why scrubbing your hair in the shower makes you feel
instantly better.
These pollutants, however, can cause long-term damage to your hair, which will lead
to not only an itchy scalp, but other conditions, such as dandruff and even hair loss.
With the following four hair packs, however, you can get rid of that annoying scalp
itch, and all other hair problems that may arise with it!
For starters, douse your hair in the vitamin-rich goodness of the grapeseed olive and
coffee hair mask. This antioxidant and fatty-rich mask will absorb all oils and toxins
from your scalp, leaving a shiny and glossy mane in its wake.
Take in the cleansing and moisturizing properties of the egg, milk, and lemon
mask, for a deep conditioning boost of goodness.
We then channel the antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties of
honey and enhance it with the honey basil hair mask. This is a must-try hair mask that
will leave your scalp feeling fresh and your hair feeling weightless and soft. And then,
give your hair a wholesome boost of cleanliness through the nutrition-laden banana,
aloe hair mask, a sure-fire winner.
