           Personal Background

My name is First Name Last Name and the educational experiences gained throughout my 26 - years of
federal service has been immense. I started my career with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)
as a student hire “draftsman” via high-school cooperative education program in September of 1990.
Naturally, the Corps wanted me to pursue an engineering degree but I quickly found that was not for
me and instead started down the path of Information Technology (IT) certification and obtained my
Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification during the late 1990’s. I also hold a current
CompTIA Security + certification for administering DoD servers for Department of the Army. This
education prepared me for managing the District’s CADD and GIS platforms and IT infrastructure. I
have had a very successful career implementing and maintaining both programs but wanted to learn
more about the analysis and answer the questions about how, when and why these environmental
systems interact and model their results. I struggled to find the desire to achieve my BS degree since
my career has reached the pinnacle as the Geospatial Program Manager for USACE Galveston. I
finally mustered the desire to enroll and begin a two-year journey. I have excelled in my GIS studies
and education with American Sentinel University by consistently maintaining a 4.0 GPA for all GIS
           courses in the curriculum.
