Spotlight on Sorors
Congratulations Soror Porcia Bradford
LAMP alumni bring an experienced voice to the table
and we are fortunate to have so many in the Montgom-
ery area. In an effort to tap into this valuable resource,
a new LAMPlighters position has been created. We
would like to welcome Dr. Porcia Bradford Love as the
LAMPlighters Alumni Representative. Dr. Love is a
Board Certified Dermatologist and the founder of
River Region Dermatology and Laser. She is also a
Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of
Alabama School of Medicine. Dr. Love graduated from
LAMP and has since been inducted into the LAMP
Hall of Fame.
Congratulations Soror Kynesha Brown
Kynesha Brown was recognized as the Montgomery
Advertiser Community Hero for the month of
November. It all started in 2016, when the Jefferson
Davis High School graduate realized that some of
Montgomery’s lowest-income areas also had its lowest
levels of voter turnout. She brought the issue to her
sisters in the Montgomery Alumnae Chapter of Delta
Sigma Theta Sorority, and the Rollin to the
Polls voting initiative was born. Her efforts, along with
volunteers from other organizations, helped to re-
enfranchise nearly 300 ex-felons after Gov. Kay Ivey
signed a state law that cleared a pathway for some
ex-felons to regain their voting rights.
Kynesha was recently promoted to the position of Public
Relations Director at Alabama Education Association.
