Visionary Arts 2019, which was held by Faculty of Arts,
Silpakorn University during 9-11 January 2020, had given myself a
great opportunity to explore Singapore city and culture. There were
green areas throughout the city, and also a number of parks where I
had a chance to visit, for instance, Fort Canning Garden and the park
at National Museum Singapore. Moreover, there was a lot of roadside
greenery where various kinds of trees were planted. It could not be
denied that the green spaces truly made the better atmosphere of this
urban environment. Unfortunately, we did not have a chance to see the
world-famous Garden by the Bay which is located around Marina Bay
waterfront, however, it was worth seeing the gardens where Singapore
has been putting the efforts in developing.
Singapore is successful in developing the country to the
Garden city because of participation and devotions from the
Government and the people. They perceived the value of nature and
how it could lead to a precious outcome, a better place to live. They
also constantly improve the great plan Lee Kuan Yew had started, and
yet never stopped, therefore, Singapore’s environment has become
sustainable and has benefited every side, the people; the Government;
and the country.
