lead new VDC group
For several years now, Gray has been using
3D modeling to design and create buildings so
customers and team members can visualize their
projects virtually. 3D models have many benefits
in the construction industry, including better
collaboration and coordination, reducing costs and
risk, and improving scheduling when it comes to
building a project in real life. Until recently, these
models were created by Gray’s Building Information
10 Modeling (BIM) group.
In December of 2019, Gray created a Virtual
Design Coordination (VDC) group within the MEP
department managed by Valan Daniel. While the

“We currently have six team members including
myself. Meghan Waters and Matt Roberts were the
first to agree to start this exciting journey with me.
Then Demetrius Edwards joined; he had previously

The VDC group’s current projects include three
distribution centers for Amazon, and a data center
for Amazon Web Services.
