                   Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures

                   4.24 Local-Mount Transducer

                                 Tools required:   Adjustable wrench
                                                   Phillips head screwdriver
                                                   Flat screwdriver (3/16" or smaller)
                                                   5/32" hex wrench
                                                   Leak detection solution


                          Removal



                                 SHOCK HAZARD:
                                 Turn off the power to the alarm, and leave it off during the installation or
                                 replacement of any component or sub-assembly. Failure to do so could
                                 result in personal injury or equipment damage.

                                 1. Turn off the incoming power to the alarm.




                                 WARNING:
                                 Before making or breaking any gas or vacuum line connections, ensure
                                 that the system is not pressurized to avoid possible injury.

                                 2. Before starting the procedure, ensure that the gas or vacuum line for the
                                     transducer under repair is not pressurized.

                                 3. Unlock the front panel.


                                 NOTE:
                                 For clarity, the front panel is not shown in the illustration for this procedure.


                                 NOTE:
                                 The illustration used in this procedure shows the rough-in box for the Area
                                 Line Pressure Alarm from Hill-Rom or Medaes as an example.

                                 4. Check the mounting position of the faulty transducer (A) (see figure 4-24
                                     on page 4-62).

                                   • If the faulty transducer (A) is not mounted underneath the power supply
                                     assembly (B), go to step 5.

                                   • If the faulty transducer (A) is mounted underneath the power supply
                                     assembly (B), remove the power supply assembly (B) by performing the
                                     following steps:
