Chapter 4: Removal, Replacement, and Adjustment Procedures
5. Note the position of the green wire (or shield wire) (L) in the terminal
block (M) located inside the transducer (A).
NOTE:
Polarity does not need to be observed for the red and black wires.
6. Loosen the screws (N) securing the three wires (L and O) to the terminal
block (M).
7. Remove the wires (L and O) from the terminal block (M).
8. Disconnect the DISS nut (P) from the DISS demand flow valve (B).
9. Remove the transducer (A).
10. Disconnect and remove the DISS demand flow valve (B) from the female
fitting (Q) in the rough-in box (K).
Replacement
WARNING:
Ensure that the correct type of transducer and DISS demand flow valve
is installed for the type of gas or vacuum being monitored. If incorrect
components are installed, patient welfare may be at risk.
1. Ensure that the new gas-specific transducer (A) and DISS demand flow
valve (B) are the correct gas or vacuum type.

2. To prevent gas leaks, wrap Teflon® tape two times around the pipe threads
of the DISS demand flow valve (B).
3. Thread the DISS demand flow valve (B) into the female fitting (Q) inside
the rough-in box (K).
CAUTION:
Do not overtighten the diameter index safety system (DISS) fittings.
Equipment damage or inadequate flow could occur.
4. Tighten the DISS demand flow valve (B) until you feel resistance, then
turn the DISS demand flow valve (B) two more full turns.
