                   6.2  Setting up the Internet Interface
                   Chapter 6: General Procedures

                                     d. Click on Dial-Up Networking.

                                 21. Edit the properties of the Dial-Up Connection by doing the following:

                                     a. Right click on the NULL Modem, and select Properties.

                                     b. Select PPP:Internet, Windows®  NT Server, Windows® 98 for the
                                         Type of Dial-Up Server on the Server Types tab.


                                 NOTE:
                                 Windows® Me and Windows® 2000 work the same way.

                                     c. Check Log on to network.
                                     d. Check Enable software compression in the Advanced Options.

                                     e. Click on TCP/IP Settings in the Allowed Network Protocols.

                                 NOTE:
                                 Have only TCP/IP checked.
                                     f. Click on Specify an IP address and enter 192.168.1.100.


                                 NOTE:
                                 This is the serial port address that your PC uses as a server.

                                     g. Check Server assigned name server address should be checked.
                                     h. Check Use IP header compression.

                                     i. Remove check from the Use default gateway on remote network box.
                                     j. Click on OK.

                                     k. Click on OK.

                          Serial Port (PPP) Connection


                                 1. Double click on the dial-up connection.

                                 2. Click on Connect.


                                 NOTE:
                                 No Password is required.


                                 3. When two little monitors are on the task bar, the connection is established;
                                     click Close.
