THE PSYCHOLOGY
OF IT ALL
As a speaker, it is the golden opportunity to engage and
enthrall your audience. Being unprepared just allows you to
be authentically raw about your message and its delivery.
Looking at it from another perspective is the fact that, no
matter the degrees of preparation one can have as a
speaker, there is still no absolute guarantee on the level of
receptiveness you will receive.
The fear you feel about impromptu speaking or public
speaking for that matter is real, no doubt. However, if you
are to redefine your perspective as that of having a "big
conversation" with a group of people at one time, it might
help.
Truth be told, a lot of our daily conversations are unplanned
and unrehearsed. Yet we still enjoy those conversations.
So embrace impromptu conversations and speeches as
opportunities of growth. It is the best way to enjoy your
speaking journey.
