FALL EVENTS
By Zohreh Khoshnamak
Pajama Party and Bake Sale
The Youth Committee created hosted a Pajama Party
Movie Night to celebrate the end of summer along with
a bake sale to raise funds for future activities. Cooler
temperatures brought the event inside to the Terrace
Lounge. That didn’t stop the kids from coming, though!
They enjoyed watching The Secret Life of Pets 2.
Spooky Mad Science Expo
Our next event will be a Halloween-themed science,
technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM)-based
event the whole family can enjoy! The Youth Commit-
tee will sponsor and support the WAL Science Club as
they host the Spooky Mad Science Expo on Saturday,
October 5 on the Lower Terrace beginning at 3 p.m.
This parent-driven activity has received accolades from
the community along with the support and participation
of prominent STEAM organizations as well as officials
from the City of Alexandria government. We ask for
and appreciate any help from WAL residents.
