• Instrument Zoo (Ages 7 & Up) - This course will focus on writing music for a variety of
familiar instruments. Although no prior knowledge of music is required, a desire to learn and
be creative is certainly helpful! Students will follow a timeline of music history (filled with
stories and masterpieces of expression), as well as accomplished guest musicians and field
trips, will guide us on our way to creating beautiful compositions that honor the Lord and make
our trip to the Instrument Zoo the first step on a long and lively musical journey! Instructor:
Jooelyn Hwang Recommended Donation of $10 per weekly session
• Advanced Contemporary Guitar (Ages 10 & Up) – **May Be Offered 2019-2020**. This
course is for advanced students with at least a year of experience, and sometimes more.
Students will continue to build upon the skills they've learned and learn songs. If you are
unsure about the level you should be in, please contact us. Instructor: Jim Howell
Recommended Donation is $12 per weekly session
• Advanced Classical Guitar (Ages 10 & Up) - This course is for advanced students with at
least a year of experience, and sometimes more. Students will continue to build upon the skills
they’ve learned. If you are unsure about the level you should be in, please contact us.
Instructor: Michael Lich Recommended Donation is $12 per weekly session
• Beginning Strings Ensemble- (Ages 10 – Adult or by approval) This is a strings course for
slightly older students who have not played a stringed instrument before or who have not had
much experience before coming to the class. If you have always dreamed of playing violin,
viola, cello, or stringed bass, this is the course for you. The students in this course will be
taught to read music, to count, and to play together as a group with proper musical expression.
Students will be expected to prepare for class through daily practice. Individual instruction on
certain concepts will be provided from time to time, if needed, and then the student will return
to the ensemble to continue working as a team. Instructor: Kathryn Harpainter Recommended
Donation $12 per weekly session
• Chorale (Ages 10 and up) - This course will provide instruction for students to sing in a chorus
style group. Students will learn to sing parts and participate in singing spirituals and other
Christian choral music. This course will also include some teaching on how to read music. This
course will be offered on both Monday and Wednesday to allow students more time to practice.
You may come both days or just one depending on your schedule. Instructor: Della Chelpka
