ART IN BLOOM
MAY 11 AND 12, DOWNTOWN MEDFORD
On Mother’s Day Weekend, Downtown Medford will host its 19th annual Art in Bloom Festival, a spectacular
springtime festival showcasing a variety of West Coast artists and horticulturists who exhibit and sell their work—
including photography, jewelry, garden decor, paintings and much more. Activities include features live entertain-
ment, food and drink vendors and a children’s art tent. Life Art/Life Track will create graffiti art live, while Nature
Joe’s ark allows kids to hold lizards, snakes, a hedgehog and more. Annie the Clown’s Fun Town has a
jump house, interactive puppet theater and face painting. Kids can plant a free flower for mom on
her special day, and Hope Ranch will have a farm petting zoo. Other activities include chalk art,
Panache Dance, displays of calligraphy, spinning, weaving, and blown glass.
Kid entrepreneurs, operating out of stands they designed, will sell tastes of their lemonade for $1.
Check out Ladies Biz Lane, where you will find the latest pampering products on hand to sample.
Art education is one of Art in Bloom’s chief goals. Over the years they have funded art projects
and student awards at several local high schools, filling in where budget cuts eliminated these
programs. Revenue generated from this year’s festival will help fund future Art in Bloom
events and help support local youth art education.
Saturday, May 11 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, May 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
located outdoors in Vogel Plaza, Lithia Commons and in the blocks surrounding.
