BREAKTHROUGH GOALS

Our breakthrough goals are transformative and not business as usual.
While we shall continue to uphold the law and execute mandate in the
years leading to 2022, DTI shall pursue the following breakthrough goals:

JOBS GENERATED THROUGH INVESTMENTS, ENTREPRENEURSHIP,
AND LIVELIHOOD

DTI resolves to increase employment levels in the industry and services sectors by
implementing and monitoring the strategies identified in the Trabaho, Negosyo at Kabuhayan
(TNK) Blueprint for Decent Job Creation through Employment and Entrepreneurship 2017-2022.
We will implement more focused and sustainable development interventions aimed at improving
competitiveness and ease of doing business, and increasing investments and exports, while
investing in human capital development, and developing micro, small, and medium enterprises,
through a convergence with other government agencies, industry players, academic institutions,
and civil society organizations.

SELECTED GLOBALLY COMPETITIVE INDUSTRIES
SCALED-UP TO BE WORLD MARKET LEADERS

For the past six years, DTI has worked with the private sector in the development of industry
roadmaps. Now is the time for action. For this plan period, our strategy is to select industries
and build those industries with comparative advantage by enhancing the support system,
addressing both horizontal and vertical issues that beset these industries/sectors.

Priority will be given to the following:

Automotive and auto parts Shipbuilding & ship-repair: roll-on
roll-off (RORO) as well as small-
and medium-sized vessels

Aerospace parts and aircraft Furniture and garments
maintenance, repair, and manufacturing and design
overhaul
