Policy Initiatives

In order to strengthen and energize DTI’s strategies, the following policy initiatives are proposed:

Review of Existing Laws:

National Economy and Patrimony pertaining to public utilities, franchise, land ownership,
and 60/40 equity rule

2. Executive Order No. 226 or the Omnibus Investments Code of 1987

3. Commonwealth Act No. 146 or the Public Service Act

4. Republic Act No. 9295 or the Philippine Domestic Shipping Industry Development Act of 2004

5. Republic Act No. 9497 or the Civil Aviation Authority Act of 2008

6. Charter of the Philippine Ports Authority

7. Republic Act No. 10642 or the Philippine Lemon Law to reduce the required number of
attempts before a consumer can avail his right from four repair attempts to one attempt if the

1. Philippine Export Development Plan 2017-2022

2. National Design Policy

3. Memorandum of Agreement (and partnership guidelines with business sector for innovation
centers.
