Introduction
Benefits of good communication can provide a lot of good things to humans such as
building trust to each other, creating better relationships and resolving problems. These benefits
show that good communication will improve accuracy, efficiency and supportiveness in many
kinds of situations. Good communication can be very effective to humans with different
backgrounds such as ages, cultures and customs. Which normally humans with different cultures
will have different ways of living and communication to each other.

Culture can be defined as the way of life of people. Culture is not only the way people in
a group do things that can be observed but also the interpretations and core values. There are
several factors which have an influence on culture, for example religion, educational systems,
family, history, media, and economics. Since cultures are different depending on the structure and
factors in the group of people, there might be some conflicts happening among different cultures.
Therefore, it is critical to understand other cultures and improve effective communication with
others.

The Communication for Governance and accountability program stated that Intercultural
communication takes place when individuals are influenced by different cultural communication
and negotiate shared meaning in interaction. The concept of intercultural communication is not
only for different nationality cultures but also the interaction between people from different ethics,
religions, and sexual orientation. Intercultural communication can help interpret the symbolic
intercultural space which helps for the understanding of people from different cultures.
