WRFL decision makers paid tribute to Pascarl's devotion to grassroots football in the west by naming
the medal awarded to the player adjudged best on the ground in the first division grand final in his
honour in 1995.
The Herb Pascarl Medal is one of the WRFL's most prestigious awards.”

“Well-known Footscray identity and humanitarian Herbert Pascarl has died.
The 95-year-old passed away peacefully last Sunday at the Box Hill hospital following a 20-year
battle with emphysema.
Mr Pascarl, who lived in Footscray all his life, was best known for his association with the Parkside
Football Club.
As well as playing for the club, he was a past president and became an honorary life member.
