Hyksos era (15-17)
The Hyksos are a group of scattered tribes that came from Central
Asia and are said to be of the Indo-European race. The word
Hyksos comes from the ancient Egyptian word “Hakaw Khasut,”
meaning rulers of foreign countries.

One of the manifestations of the Hyksos rule was that they started
burning some cities and temples, insulted the Egyptian gods,
slaughtered some men, took their women and children, and
imposed taxes on them. They took Avaris (Tel el-Dabaa) in
Sharqia as their capital, and they had no civilizational relations
with the Egyptians. There was no agreement between them, and
as for their religion, they worshiped a god called Sutakh, and he
was an image of the god Set, so they worshiped him and he
became their official god.
