Jeremiah 11:1 555 Jeremiah 12:5
11 shoulde my beloued tarie in mine house, seeing

1 The worde that came to Ieremiah from the they haue committed abomination with manie?
Lord, saying, 2 Heare ye the wordes of this and the holy flesh goeth away from thee: yet
couenant, and speake vnto the men of Iudah, when thou doest euill, thou reioycest. 16 The Lord
and to the inhabitants of Ierusalem, 3 And say called thy name, A greene oliue tree, faire, and of
thou vnto them, Thus sayeth the Lord God of goodly fruite: but with noyse and great tumult
Israel, Cursed be the man that obeyeth not the he hath set fyre vpon it, and the branches of it
wordes of this couenant, Which I commanded are broken. 17 For the Lord of hostes that planted
                                         4
vnto your fathers, when I brought them out of thee, hath pronounced a plague against thee, for
the lande of Egypt, from the yron fornace, saying, the wickednes of the house of Israel, and of the
Obey my voyce, and doe according to all these house of Iudah, which they haue done against
things, which I commande you: so shall ye be themselues to prouoke me to anger in offering
my people, and I will be your God, That I may incense vnto Baal. 18 And the Lord hath taught
                                                   5
confirme the othe, that I haue sworne vnto your me, and I knowe it, euen then thou shewedst mee
fathers, to giue them a lande, which floweth with their practises. 19 But I was like a lambe, or a
milke and hony, as appeareth this day. Then bullocke, that is brought to the slaughter, and
answered I and sayde, So be it, O Lord. 6 Then I knewe not that they had deuised thus against
the Lord saide vnto me, Cry all these words in the me, saying, Let vs destroy the tree with the fruite
cities of Iudah, and in the streetes of Ierusalem, thereof, and cut him out of the lande of the liuing,
saying, Heare yee the words of this couenant, that his name may be no more in memory. 20 But
and doe them. 7 For I haue protested vnto your O Lord of hostes, that iudgest righteously, and
fathers, whe I brought them vp out of the land of triest the reines and the heart, let me see thy
Egypt vnto this day, rising earely and protesting, vengeance on them: for vnto thee haue I opened
saying, Obey my voyce. 8 Neuerthelesse they my cause. 21 The Lord therefore speaketh thus of
would not obey, nor encline their eare: but euery the men of Anathoth, (that seeke thy life, and say,
one walked in the stubbernesse of his wicked Prophecie not in the Name of the Lord, that thou
heart: therefore I will bring vpon them all the die not by our hands) 22 Thus therefore sayth the
wordes of this couenant, which I commanded Lord of hostes, Beholde, I will visite them: the
them to do, but they did it not. 9 And the Lord yong men shall die by the sword: their sonnes
sayd vnto me, A conspiracie is found among and their daughters shall die by famine, 23 And
the men of Iudah, and among the inhabitants none of them shall remaine: for I will bring a
of Ierusalem. 10 They are turned backe to the plague vpon the men of Anathoth, euen the yeere
iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to of their visitation.
heare my wordes: and they went after other gods
to serue them: thus the house of Israel, and the 12
house of Iudah haue broken my couenant, which 1 O Lord, if I dispute with thee, thou art
I made with their fathers. 11 Therefore thus sayth righteous: yet let mee talke with thee of thy
the Lord, Beholde, I will bring a plague vpon iudgements: wherefore doeth the way of the
them, which they shall not be able to escape, wicked prosper? why are all they in wealth that
and though they crye vnto me, I will not heare rebelliously transgresse? 2 Thou hast planted
them. 12 Then shall the cities of Iudah, and the them, and they haue taken roote: they grow, and
inhabitants of Ierusalem goe, and crie vnto the bring forth fruite: thou art neere in their mouth,
gods vnto whome they offer incense, but they and farre from their reines. 3 But thou, Lord,
shall not bee able to helpe them in time of their knowest me: thou hast seene me, and tried mine
trouble. 13 For according to the number of thy heart towarde thee: pull them out like sheepe for
cities were thy gods, O Iudah, and according to the slaughter, and prepare them for the day of
the number of the streetes of Ierusalem haue yee slaughter. 4 Howe long shall the lande mourne,
set vp altars of confusion, euen altars to burne and the herbes of euery fielde wither, for the
incense vnto Baal. 14 Therfore thou shalt not wickednesse of them that dwell therein? the
pray for this people, neither lift vp a crie, or beastes are consumed and the birdes, because
prayer for them: for when they cry vnto mee they sayd, He wil not see our last ende. 5 If
in their trouble, I will not heare them. 15 What thou hast runne with the footemen and they
