• Gingerbread Houses for Teens and Adults Thursday, November 29 at 4:00pm at
the Waynesville Library. Join us for a fun instructional session led by Marilyn Fausti
on how to make your own gingerbread house! Begin working on your own house
with kits provided by the library. Space and materials are limited so registration is

• Robotics: How Fast, How Far? Thursday, November 29 at 4:00pm at the Canton
Library. For children in grades 4 through 8 grade. Students will program a robot

to move forward, and then explore variations such as moving different distances
at different speeds. The lesson will begin by introducing a real-world robot
(Sensabot) and the challenge modeled after it. We will then build our robots and
learn how to move forward and backward. Registration Required! Call (828)648-

• Mother Goose Storytime every Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Waynesville Library.
Mother Goose is a special Storytime for babies and toddlers (ages 5 months to 2
years old) and their parents/caregivers. Work on building communication and
early literacy skills while having fun with rhymes, songs, stories, finger plays, and
much more.
• Family Storytime is offered at the Canton Library every Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. and
every Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Waynesville Library. This is a Storytime for
children of all ages and their caregivers and includes stories, music, rhymes and
an age appropriate craft.
• Romping’ Stomping Storytime is offered at the Canton Library at 10:30a.m. every
Thursday and Movers and Shakers is offered at the Waynesville Library every
Thursday at 11 a.m. These storytimes are full of music and movement, and
include activities with shaker eggs, beanbags, and even a parachute.
• All branches of the Haywood County Public Library will be closed November 10-
12 for Veteran’s Day.
• All branches of the Haywood County Public Library will be closed November 22-
25 for the Thanksgiving holidays. Please remember that no items are due when
the Library is closed and no fines accrue. The library’s website,
www.haywoodlibrary.org is always open.
