                                    IT enhancements coming soon!

In 2021, MIL will be sending out several communications for upcoming IT enhancements to our
Microsoft 365 productivity and collaboration applications (i.e., Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, etc.)
and MIL’s IT security environment. A few examples of IT security enhancements include two-
factor authentication for PC access, email sensitivity labels, and web content filtering (i.e., blocking
malicious sites on the web). These features will be rolled out incrementally with enhancements to
further protect our corporate and customer data by introducing information protection services and
automation. Some of these enhancements are to comply with National Institute of Standards and
Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-171, which is a cybersecurity standard for federal
contractors and the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), which is an upcoming
cybersecurity standard and requirement for DoD contractors.

The I’s have it: MIL annual performance reviews

Each year, MIL employees get an opportunity to participate in our annual performance appraisal
program. Each staff member is asked to conduct a detailed self-assessment to document and
present their perceptions of corporate culture and leadership effectiveness, and to rate their
own performance in several key evaluation areas. Supervisors are then tasked with assessing
each employee’s performance from a management perspective; then the findings are compared,
sometimes contrasted, and then discussed one-on-one.
The goal of MIL’s annual performance evaluation process is to facilitate and promote open
communication and constructive feedback exchanges to drive professional development and
personal growth. It also provides a valuable forum for recognizing individual employee contributions
and acknowledging professional achievements and technical excellence.
