Let’s connect!
MIL wants to expand our LinkedIn presence and we need your help! We have nearly 7,000 followers on LinkedIn and more unique
visitors and post impressions than all other social media platforms combined. In addition to our first-level connections viewing our
posts, LinkedIn’s posting features expand to second and third-level connections as well. This means our posts have the ability to
reach well over 10,000 connects!
According to Kinsta and Forbes, here is a quick overview of LinkedIn:
» In 2019, LinkedIn has 645 million accounts, and 40% of those users logged on every single day
» LinkedIn is 277% more effective in discovering business leads compared to both Twitter and Facebook
» 80% of B2B leads come from LinkedIn
Our LinkedIn analytics show the top job functions of LinkedIn visitors from December 2019 to date have been in business
development (15.13%) and information technology (11.73%). The full chart is below:
MIL posts on LinkedIn about once per week. We encourage all staff to like, comment, and share our posts to increase content
engagement. However, at 645 million users – there is always room to grow! We hope you take part in this social media branding
effort!
Diversity, equality, & inclusion update
MIL’s DE&I Working Group continues to build on our First Steps efforts and stated goals.
Initiative 1 – With the help of an external team of experts, we have met with MIL leadership to gauge their current actions and
ideas around DE&I. These discussions will help to create a focused DE&I employee survey.
Initiative 2 – MIL’s recruiting team continues to place importance on broadening our established pipelines to ensure a steady
flow of diverse applicants.
Initiative 3 – 92% of employees completed unconscious bias training this fall. Based on this unprecedented participation rate,
many of you place significant value on exposing your unconscious biases and learning about available tools to adjust automatic
patterns of thinking.
At the end of January, our external consultants will administer a DE&I workforce survey to specifically
target workforce perceptions of fairness, belonging, and safety. We will send more details about this survey
and next steps, to include a call for focus group participants, in an upcoming communication. Although
voluntary, we strongly encourage you to complete all parts of the survey. A high participation rate is
important to us and the future our organization!
