A BROWN-GROUND ‘NINE DRAGONS’ SILK ROBE
Late Qing Dynasty
Worked in couched gold threads and counted stitch with nine five-
clawed dragons chasing flaming pearls amid satin stitch designs of
vaporous ruyi clouds interspersed with bats, cranes and a central
basket of peaches, rendered in knotted stitch, above a hem of cresting
waves and lishui stripe.

A LARGE EMBROIDERED CREAM SILK PANEL
Early 20th century
Decorated with a long tailed phoenix, birds of paradise, smaller birds,
waterfowl and butterflies amongst densely flowering and blossoming
plants issuing from rockwork on a riverbank, richly woven in gold
thread, five character inscription.
