The unusual figure carved seated whilst
looking into a mirror and peeling off his old
visage to reveal a young man underneath;
the two bowenite carvings of an eagle and a
mythical beast and its young, wood stands.

THUMB RINGS IN A PRESENTATION
CASE
Probably late Qing Dynasty
Each ring glazed white, bright green and
olive green, bearing respectively gilt and iron-
red xi characters, the rectangular case of
embroidered red and patterned fabric, with
three cylindrical stands fitted for the rings.
