There is a general belief this maker was allied in some way with Nanking Jewelry Co which operated from 145
Chung Chin Road, Shanghai. The investigation is ongoing to verify this, but currently no concrete documentary
evidence has come to light to support this.

C.J.Co made both large and small items ranging from cocktail sets and tea sets to novelty rickshaw condiment
sets and casters - all of a high quality, but much of it “popular” merchandise rather than highly stylish. The
name “China Jewelry Company” is somewhat misleading - ostensibly it was not a jewellery manufacturing
            company.

service by China Jewelry Company which
            dates to circa 1925-1920. Obviously
influenced by the Art Deco style - a style that
hit Shanghai as much as it did European and
            American cities.

            Nanking Jewelry Company. The same
planished finish and the almost identical
handles cannot be dismissed as coincidence
