Page 174 - Chinese SIlver By Adrien Von Ferscht
P. 174
This is one of the strangest collections of Chinese Export Silver of the late 19th century - a set of four circa 1895
muffineers and six pepperettes all from an obvious same family of silver and all bearing the CJ Co. mark.
This novelty condiment set in
the form of a coolie pushing a
barrow holding an open salt
in the shape of a basket, a
pumpkin forming a lidded
mustard pot and a bamboo
shoot forming the pepperette.
Novelty and fun objects
seems to have been what CJ
Co. liked best.
